Highlights

Tour of the Jewish Ghetto of Rome
When you think about the history of Rome and its great empire, you can't help but think that this wonderful city is the epitome of history itself. But Rome is also large and generous internally.
Of the ancient houses in which thousands of Jews were isolated for centuries, today almost nothing remains. However, walking through the alleys of the ghetto, full of monuments, buildings, streets and in the eyes of some of the descendants of those who lived here in the past, you will find that the legacy still lives within them today.
Visit with us one of the most fascinating neighborhoods in Rome and discover the history of one of the oldest Jewish communities in the world. Walk with our guide through the alleys of the Ghetto and discover the traces of imperial Rome, such as the Theater of Marcellus or the Portico of Ottavia. We will retrace the history of the Jewish people in the city of Rome, from ancient times to modern times, without ever forgetting the victims of the Holocaust, of which the "stumbling stones" (concrete cubes with a brass plate) fixed in the floor are a tangible testimony.
You will also have the opportunity to discover the typical recipes of traditional Jewish-Roman cuisine, such as the delicious Giudia artichokes or the tart with ricotta and black cherries. During this splendid walk you will admire the nineteenth-century synagogue and conclude the visit with the sound of the water of the Renaissance turtle fountain in Piazza Mattei.
